Trump Pardons Giuliani, Meadows for 2020 Election Actions

US President Donald Trump has pardoned his allies who helped him contest his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
Among those pardoned are lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows, as well as lawyers John Eastman and Kenneth Chesebro. They attempted to challenge Joe Biden's victory and developed a strategy to pressure Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to certify the election results.
As Politico notes, these individuals had not yet been federally charged, but the pardon eliminates the possibility of bringing a criminal case against them in the future.
As a reminder, on January 20, 2025, the day of his inauguration, Trump had pardoned about 1,500 defendants in the Capitol storming case.
